Beginner Shorin Ryu Karate Jutsu Classes Enrolling In March!
Karate is an open hand fighting system that originated in Okinawa hundreds of years ago. Its roots are traced to the Shaolin Temple Monks in Northern China. Karate translates to “empty hand.” Shorin Ryu translates to “Way of the Shaolin.”
You will be learning under Hanshi Michael Rosati 8th Dan, who began studying Karate on Okinawa in 1972 under Eizu Shimabukuro of Shorin Ryu. Since then he's been a student of Shorin Ryu under Ansei Ueshiro, Joseph Fuschi, Arthur Ng, Takayoshi Nagamine and Toshihiro Oshiro. He's studied under Dr. Milorad Stricevic the Chairman of Sport Science (L.I. University) and Coach for the 1994 Karate World Cup Team. Hanshi Rosati has had the pleasure of briefly training with Choki Kishaba (Shorin Ryu) and his brother Chogi Kishaba (Yamane Ryu Kobudo).
At RSMMA we use the Krav Maga Classes to cover Basic Techniques, Conditioning and Reality Based Self Defense. We offer Shorin Ryu Karate Jutsu to only those who are interested in Traditional Shorin Ryu Karate Jutsu.

Beyond its physical aspects, Karate stresses the importance of respect, courtesy and responsibility. It cultivates such characteristics as commitment, dedication, self-discipline, self-esteem, self-control and teamwork. It enhances concentration and thus can improve academic performance. It promotes life long intellectual, emotional and spiritual growth.
